I was lucky to visit Cafe Magnate – the cafe owned by BTS Jimin’s Dad in Busan. I wanna share my experience and how we got there.
Last month, I accompanied my friend who loves BTS to Busan with my son. She’s going to watch the Yet to Come BTS Concert and I was asked to tag along. I grabbed the opportunity since I really wanted to go to Busan.
I’ve planned our itinerary including the visit to BTS Jimin Dad’s famous cafe – Magnate [메그네이트] since he is the bias of my friend. Aside from that, I also include Gamcheon Culture Village in our travel because of the mural of Jimin and Jungkook. If you are a BTS fan, it’s a must to visit this place.
So my son and I arrived in Busan on the 13th and the next day we went to Cafe Magnate. We actually left early to avoid the long line but when we arrived we were shocked that the line was already long. Fans are also happy to see Jimin’s dad even though their idol wasn’t there. Jimin’s dad also gave the fans a Yakult to drink.
That day, we waited for 3 hours which is not usual during ordinary days. But since, there’s also a free BTS concert in Busan fans flocked there and got their luck to visit the cafe and see Jimin’s dad.

About Cafe Magnate [메그네이트]
Cafe Magnate is owned by BTS Jimin’s dad located in Daeyeon-dong, Busan. Before it was transformed into a cafe this place is actually a manufacturing plant for almost 50 years. Actually, when you visit the cafe you will see some memorabilia of the manufacturing plant inside.
Opening Hours
Cafe Magnate [메그네이트] opens from 10:00 am to 9:50 pm every day and the last order is 9:20 pm.
Prices and Menu
The cafe serves coffee, tea, bread, cakes, and others. Their menu’s price range is from 4,000 to 11,000 won. The price range is not different from other cafes that I have visited.
Before we went to the cafe, I checked Naver and see that they also serve waffles but it wasn’t available during the day of our visit.
So we had bread and grapefruit juice. Sorry but I am not sure what’s the name of the bread since I was so happy to get inside after waiting 3 hours. Although I still remember that one of the bread has a combination of butter and red bean which is not usual to me but honestly, it was so tasty. I wished I ordered some for take out but the line was too long and I don’t have the energy to line and wait again.
The Cafe’s Interior
Cafe Magnate is very spacious and has a newtro vibe from inside and outside. Also, the designs of tables and chairs are also different and you can choose according to your mood. There’s also a huge chandelier which also gives a luxury style to the cafe.
There are also pop-arts hanging on the wall and a few days before the Yet to Come concert in Busan the BTS Jimin-inspired art by artist Lee K was also put and hung on the wall of the cafe.
What I like about the cafe’s set-up is the chairs and tables are not that close to each other. There are sofas for people who visit in groups, there are also tables for solo comers and couples. It’s so spacious and you’ll never complain about noise from the other tables since the tables and chairs are not close to each other.
I also love the paintings and displays inside the cafe. The photo below is one of my favorites to look at. It is simple yet it’s giving me a retro vibe.
The rest are pretty cool but I was only shocked when I checked one of the bathrooms and it was widely clear glass where you can see the outside view and probably the other side too from outside. So when I went to the bathroom for the second time, I’ve chosen the bathroom on the middle side of the cafe.

Every corner could be a photo zone from this cafe but visitors adorn the BTS’ Jimin’s Louvre portraitmade by South Korean artistLee K. So I took the chance to take a photo and my son too!
How to get here?
Address: 부산 남구 진남로 135 B동 1층 (135, Jinnam-ro, Nam-gu, Busan, South Korea)
How to get here: Motgol station [못골역], Exit 4. Walk to Cafe Magnate for about 14 minutes for 750 meters. You can also take Bus No. Namgu 9 [남구 9] at the Motgol Sageori [못골사거리] and drop off at Yeonpo Elementary School [연포초등학교] and walk about 2 minutes. If you don’t want to walk or take the bus just take a taxi. It’s 1.4km and 6 minutes by taxi for 3,800 won.
Other Information:
- The cafe has a parking lot.
- Kids are allowed.
- They have wifi.
- The cafe also sells some ZM-illennial merchandise like tumblers, mugs, and hoodies.
